Six years ago, the Kentucky Art and
Craft Foundation (KACF), The Louisville Visual Art Association (LVAA)
and The Speed Art Museum developed a social organization of artists
and art lovers. That
organization became Artcentric -- its mission was to create
opportunities for young professionals to interact with artists in a
fun, yet informative way.
Artcentric continues
as a strong, vibrant organization, with this past year being one of
the most memorable. Highlights include a glassblowing demonstration at
the studio of Jonathan Stokes, a holiday home tour to view the
Reverend Al and Mary Shands’ magnificent art collection, and a
studio tour at the home of artists C.J. Fletcher and Eugene Thomas.
Plans for next season
are already underway. We
are organizing collector’s home tours, more tours to the studios of
local artists, and more Artcentric events with KACF, LVAA and the
Speed.
Artcentric
is a young professionals group. It
is a partnership of the Speed, the Kentucky Art and Craft Foundation

arts patrons through interaction with visual art and artists using the
programs of the Speed, the LVAA, the KACF and by learning more about
artists and art lovers in the Louisville community.
