The
Kentucky Art and Craft Foundation is proud to present the 7th annual
exhibition Holidazzle in the Shands
Gallery. Each year, the
Kentucky Art and Craft Gallery produces Holidazzle,
an exhibition created specially to coincide with the holiday season,
and this year’s show is sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
“This year we intend to present an eclectic mix of
contemporary craft from across the United States,” says curator Mary
Ellen Furlong. “We are
inviting some of the finest artisans from across the country to
participate alongside our own Kentucky craftspeople. We are choosing artists who work in a variety of media
ranging from pottery to jewelry to fiber to glass and more; the common
theme is that each creates knockout works of art.
Our goal is to create an exhibition that showcases fine craft
in a setting conducive to collecting and gift
buying.”
Holidazzle
also
will feature sterling and gold jewelry by Peggy Cochran (Portland,
Oregon), whimsical metal handbags by Natalie McCluggage (Louisville,
Kentucky), and gorgeous jackets and scarves by Sandra Clark
(Barrington, Illinois). Unique
lamps by Lewis and Clark (Columbia, South Carolina) also will be
available, as well as decorative fiber pieces by M.J. Kinman
(Louisville, Kentucky) and Penny Sisto (Floyds Knobs, Indiana). Ceramic artists include Carol
Green (Elburn, Illinois), Dana Major (Afton, Virginia), Becky Lloyd
(Princeton, Minnesota), David Stuart (North August, South Carolina),
Dan Selter (Lexington, Kentucky), and Libby Ware (Daytona Beach,
Florida).
“This
exhibition provides a great way to support talented artists and the
arts community as a whole, all while finding that perfect holiday
gift,” says Executive Director Mary Miller.
