"I
have the pleasure of accompanying (the kids) on many field trips and this
one was by far the best. The hands-on experience allowed them
multiple opportunities to express their creativity." -Wendy Menzel,
chaperone
Every fall and spring, the KACF Education Department offers a series of hands-on art and craft school workshop which are thematically related to the current exhibition in the main gallery. Groups are first given a tour of the exhibit, and students are encouraged to discuss and critique the work in terms of content, style and technique. After touring the exhibition, students work on a hands-on art project also connected to the exhibition. -All workshops are conducted by professional artists. -Field trip workshops run from 9:30am-1:00pm, allowing times for travel or for other activities. (Lunch is not provided.) -Field trip cost is $150 for a maximum group of 25 students k-12. -Students take home a finished piece of art. Reservations are taken on a first-call, first serve basis. If schools or groups are unable to schedule a field trip in season KACF can also schedule a custom visit. |
