I don’t really know what the definitions of all these kinds of art are [such as Folk, Visionary and Outsider art] and I don’t really concern myself with them. I make art for personal reasons, and really the style and materials I use are incidental. It’s the message that’s important. And it is very important to me that the meaning be clear, otherwise it is pointless. If you have to be educated to make it or understand it, and rich to buy it - then it is not really for everybody.

Howard Finster has been my greatest influence. Working with him the last 5 years of his life, he taught me and my husband many things - about art - but more about life and your spiritual path. He taught us that art is a way to spread your message and visions and connect with people in an intimate way that is ultimately healing and brings you all closer to God.
