If ever there was an
artist that everyone would love to have as a grandfather, Marvin Finn is that man. From
his humble central Louisville apartment, Marvin creates animals of all shapes, sizes and
colors from scrap wood, paint and miscellaneous found objects. |
 |
| The career of this gentle
octogenarian began under the tutelage of his father who was a wheelwright and carpenter.
Marvin was a quick study, observing and digesting information about not only the skill of
a carpenter but the details of the natural world that was a large part of his rural
childhood. His first works were toys, made for his own children. Others saw and
appreciated his skills and for the past forty or so years, he has never stopped working.
